Description
Tezcatlipoca which means Smoking Mirror in Nahuatl the spoken language of the Mexica (Aztecs), was
one of the most important gods of Mesoamerican culture. Deity of war, virtue and punishment, also one
of the four creator Gods. His cult was venerated mainly in the central valley of Mexico from the time of
Teotihuacan to the Mexica.
Tezcatlipoca was represented with a black stripe on his face an obsidian mirror on his chest and an
exposed bone for one of his leg. He was often associated with the jaguar, whose skin resembles a sky
with stars.
